A Collection Of Custom Stair Railings

Stair Cases No Comments

Here is a of a few of the staircases we have built recently.

They represent the local rustic architectural style. We build traditional style stairs as well, but far more common in this area are the more rustic lodge style staircase railings.

Some of the custom commission requests we get are:

  • Full log Cedar or Pine
  • Twig, Branch, and log Style
  • Heavy Timber
  • Hand Hewn Pine Timbers

Browse the photo slide show we provided for you to see a few example of these common hand rail styles we build. If you would like to discuss having us make you a custom stair railing for your cabin, Lake Home or lodge please feel free to contact us to explore the possibilities.

Storm Damage Repair

Maintenance/Repair No Comments

Unfortunately a large maple tree broke and landed on the roof of this home. The majority of the damage was done to the exterior, although the interior knotty pine ceiling did require replacement and repairs as well. Luckily the home was not occupied  and nobody was injured.

Natural Edge Pine Slab Bar

Beautiful Interiors No Comments

Here is a very unique and rustic Natural edge Pine bar. We constructed the top with 2 1/2″ thick pine slabs. The base of the bar is covered with blue stain knotty pine tongue and groove paneling. For the shelves on the back bar we used the natural edge slabs and accent them with bark on branches for shelf supports.

In the photos the wood is unfinished. The mechanical contractor and [plumber will be installing the bar sinks, coolers and ice makers. The tall cabinet will house a home theater system.

Turtle Flambeau Flowage Log Home Renovation

Renovation, Uncategorized No Comments

We are in the first phase of remodeling this log cabin on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. It’s located between Park Falls and Mercer Wisconsin on the Lake Bastine portion of the flowage. We have been told this cabin was built here on Lake Bastine Prior to the Flowage being flooded in the 1920’s. The existing logs are spruce. The addition we have build is constructed of Pine D-style logs. Eight inches thick by twelve inches high. The original main section of this home was constructed of logs, with several other stick framed additions being added over the years. We will be renovating the old additions to give them a nice log look.

The home owners have some very nice ideas for this renovation, and it will greatly improve the appearance and functionality of this home.

The First phase of the project has included:

  • A new full log foyer area
  • Removal and replacement of the half log siding on the East wing of the home
  • Upgrading wall insulation
  • Installation of a rain screen wall system

The slide show is a nice sampler of the work as it a progressed to date
